Penny Weaver is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Clark College (which is now Clark Atlanta University) where she graduated with a B.A. in Art. She taught visual arts for thirty-five years with the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has had private art exhibits featuring her art in various media such as watercolor, acrylics, graphite drawings, and etched/wood-burned and painted gourds.
As a natural storyteller, Penny enjoys using her life experiences in her stand-up comedy and as a writer. She has performed stand-up comedy at The Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, The Dog House in downtown Los Angeles, The HaHa Café in North Hollywood, The Oxwood Inn in Van Nuys, and The Actors Company in Hollywood. Penny is currently a 2017-2018 Community Literature Initiative Scholar.
She is married and currently resides in the Los Angeles area.
